5 Day Best of Byron Bay and Hinterland Experience

Day 1 - Friday  Boat Cruise and Gin Tasting  

Make your own way to Brunswick River Inn. Leave bags at reception. Meet your local guide at 9:15am at Brunswick River Inn. 9:30am depart for Brunswick Boat Harbour. Board the MV Jasmine for a 2-hour cruise up the majestic Brunswick River, enjoy fresh coffee, selection of teas, hot chocolate, delicious gourmet cakes and biscuits, as you glide gently along on a Brunswick River cruise enjoying the wonderful scenery and wildlife. 12:00pm we will transfer you back to your Brunswick heads town centre, where you can find some lunch at one of
the local cafes and peruse the local shops. At 2pm you can check in to your room, before departing at 2:15pm for your Rainforest & Distillery Tour experience at Cape Byron Distillery, home of Brookies Gin. On this experience you will walk around the rainforest where they source many of the botanicals in their gin. Afterwards sample the delicious gins and their new whisky range and learn how they are all made.4:30pm depart back to your accommodation at Brunswick River Inn.

Day 2 - Saturday – Byron Hinterland villages, waterfalls and crystals

This morning enjoy breakfast at Happy Dolphin Cafe 2 doors up from your accommodation then meet out front of the hotel reception at 9:50 am where your local guide will take you on a journey to discover the amazing Byron Hinterland. You will visit the historic town of Bangalow, see the majestic Minyon Falls – the tallest waterfall in the region, have lunch at the famous Doma Japanese  Café – see why people come from far and wide to sample this amazing cuisine, visit the Crystal Castle – see some of the biggest crystals on earth! Feel the love in Mullumbimby, before returning to Brunswick Heads.

Day 3 - Sunday – Nimbin – rainforest –waterfalls - markets

Today check out and meet your local guide for the day in the Brunswick River Inn reception area at 8.50 am to begin tour of the Nimbin Hippy Trail. You will visit the local arts and crafts markets, go for a short walk (1.4km) through the rainforest to see the Protesters Falls, enjoy a picnic lunch in the rainforest before heading to Nimbin – see a candle making demonstration,
explore the shops and the street art. The day will conclude in Byron Bay at approximately 4:30 pm where you will check into your accommodation.

Please Note: Your luggage will be transferred separately to Brunswick Heads, therefore please pack a day bag for this day with any items you want for the duration of  the day tour.  We recommend you bring with you good walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, a rain jacket and water.

Day 4 - Monday – Byron Bay – The Farm – Lighthouse - Aboriginal cultural

Meet out front of the hotel reception at 8:50 am where a local guide will take you on a tour of Byron Bay. You will visit the Byron Lighthouse precinct (inside lighthouse is currently closed to visitors), put your feet in the sand at the famous Watgoes Beach. Explore the Farm, pick macadamias, see the chooks and highland cows, have morning tea at the Bread Social Café. Visit the Byron Bay Cookie shop, taste some of their delicious famous cookies, take a ride on the worlds first solar train. You will return to Byron at 12 noon, when you can explore the shops, restaurants and famous beaches. At 15:30 you guide will pick you up from Beachcomber to take you to the Pass to meet up with Aunty Delta, local Arakwal – Bunjalung woman, she will share stories of deep connection to country and you will sample some local bush tucker. At 18:00 you will be taken back to Byron Beachcomber.

Check  out of your accommodation at 10am, you can leave you luggage at reception, while you spend the day relaxing in Byron.

We can arrange a whale watching tour (June-Oct), snorkelling tour or Kayaking with dolphins tour for you on this day as an optional extra.
